Welcome!
As your new Chair of FCSI EAME I would like to thank you all for your support at the Conference in Marrakech, I have been inundated with emails from members wishing me to pass on their congratulations to the Conference Planning Committee for an exceptional Conference.
The presentations by our chosen speakers were excellent and held every ones attention in the audience.
It was felt that this could not be topped, but on the Saturday morning we found ourselves transfixed, as each of the two student competition finalists presented their projects. They were both delivered as if the students were professional presenters. Both the projects were looking into the future for the betterment of either the physically challenged or for the younger generation to take holidays where they could improve the lives of the less fortunate and gain experience in communicating with each other. I feel that both these projects will be taken forward into the future and be come a reality and I wish they very success.
On the Thursday night we were treated to the delights of a bedewing tent, with the magic of the horsemen and dancing girls and of course the Flying carpet.
On the Friday night we were entertained at an exclusive restaurant were we sampled the delights of Eastern food.
What can I say about the Saturday night’s cocktail reception and gala dinner, I have burnt into my memory the experience of Rosemary and I each riding a camel into the cocktails reception by the pool for the official hand over of the Chair of FCSI EAME, how we both did not end up in the pool I do not know.
The Gale dinner was an evening of fine food and the music of the band, I for one was on the dance floor with many other from 9 till pass midnight.
It was also a proud moment when three of our members, Al DaCosta, Gerhard Franzen and Ken Winch were each made Fellows of FCSI and even prouder that two of the three are from FCSI EAME and I congratulate all three.
At Cocktail reception I was handed the Key to the Future of FCSI EAME, I will be using this key to unlock as many doors to the future over my two years of office.
I look forward to meeting you all again in Sweden in September 2011 for the next FCSI EAME Conference.
Best regards
Tony Galvin FCSI
